Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I am very fortunate to have grown up in Keller, TX. At that time in the ‘70s through the early ’90s, it had a small-town feel but growth was exploding. At Keller High School, I played both football & baseball. After high school I continued playing baseball in college and majored in business at both Hardin-Simmons University & Winthrop University. Today I live in Keller with my wife Kris and our beloved pets. We have 2 children, Cameron & Cory. Cameron attends the University of Louisiana Monroe where she plays volleyball, and Cory attends Baylor University (Sic ‘em Bears). While the kids grew up I coached 28 seasons of softball and baseball as well as some other sports, while also serving on the board and acting as a commissioner at the Keller Youth Association.
How did you end up at Rogers Wealth Group?
In 1995, I started my career with Rogers Institutional Advisory Corp and Rogers & Associates, both of which are now consolidated into Rogers Wealth Group. My father Dale was a true pioneer in both the retirement plan arena and fee-only wealth management. I was very lucky to have been able to join the family business with such an amazing reputation for expertise and quality work. I was able to spend those early formative business years learning from the best and soaking up Dale’s lessons about business and life each day. Much has changed during my career as we’ve moved our firm from a small family office on the south side of I30 Summit Ave. to a small enterprise on the north side of I30 Summit Ave. But one thing will always stay the same, and that’s our commitment to expertise, quality, dependability, honesty, and putting our clients’ needs above our own. That will never change!
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with family at our ranch, the lake, or out by the pool in the summer. I also love to grill, BBQ, try new restaurants and ride my motorcycle every chance I get. We also love our church, Keystone Church in Keller where they bring us ever closer to our Lord Jesus. Now that Kris and I are newly empty nesters, we can’t wait to explore new places and travel together where new adventures await!
